Yes. Google Sheets works offline in the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser once you install the Google Docs Offline extension and turn on Offline in Google Drive settings while connected to the internet; private browsing is not supported. You can also mark a file with File > Make available offline. ProfitDrawer's spreadsheets include 1 Excel .xlsx file as well, which works with no internet connection in a recent version of Excel.
Set up offline access (computer):
- Make sure you are online, using Chrome or Edge (not a private or incognito window), with enough free storage.
- Install and turn on the Google Docs Offline extension.
- In Google Drive, click Settings (gear icon) > Settings and turn on Offline.
- Open Google Sheets; recent files become available offline.
Make one spreadsheet available offline:
- From the Sheets home screen, click More on the file and choose Available offline. A check mark appears on the file.
- Or open the spreadsheet and click File > Make available offline.
Check it is ready: open the file and click the document status icon next to the title. If it is not ready offline, Sheets explains why.
Edits made offline sync back to Drive the next time you connect.
