When are small business taxes due in 2027?

Updated By ProfitDrawer

Short answer

For tax year 2026, partnerships and S corporations file by March 15, 2027, while sole proprietors, single-member LLCs and C corporations file by April 15, 2027. Forms W-2 and 1099-NEC are due February 1, 2027, and 2027 estimated tax payments fall on April 15, June 15 and September 15, 2027, and January 18, 2028. ProfitDrawer's 2027 tax deadlines guide lists every federal date in one table.

Your business structure sets your main federal filing date for tax year 2026:

Business type Return Due (2027) With extension
Sole proprietor, single-member LLC Form 1040 with Schedule C April 15 October 15 (Form 4868)
Partnership, multi-member LLC Form 1065 March 15 September 15 (Form 7004)
S corporation Form 1120-S March 15 September 15 (Form 7004)
C corporation Form 1120 April 15 October 15 (Form 7004)

Other common 2027 dates:

  • January 15: fourth estimated payment for tax year 2026.
  • February 1: Forms W-2 and 1099-NEC (January 31 is a Sunday).
  • Form 941: February 1, April 30, August 2 and November 1.

The January 18, 2028 date is a calculation from the weekend and holiday rule, so confirm it on irs.gov. An extension gives more time to file, not to pay. State deadlines are set by each state and often differ. Businesses on a fiscal year have different dates. General information, not tax advice.
